Liposuction

People who have excess weight due to obesity which is one of the main diseases of our age lose weight with diets and a number of treatments. However, fat accumulation occurs in certain parts of the body in response to this weight loss. These fat deposits remain constant no matter how slim the person becomes. Liposuction is the process of removing fat that occurs in certain areas. This process gives the body a better and healthier appearance.

Liposuction is popularly known as fat removal. It is a misconception that liposuction is a slimming procedure. It is the removal of permanent fat from the hips, waist, knees, hipline and abdominal areas. If fat that has accumulated in these parts will not disappear with diets and sports, it  is removed from the body with liposuction. The procedure is carried out by opening incisions between 1 and 3 mm. The fatty tissue is fluidized through these incisions. Subsequently it is vacuumed from the body.

Who Can Have Liposuction?

Liposuction is a surgical procedure. Therefore, surgery should be carried out according to the opinion of a surgeon who is an expert in their field. Liposuction which is carried out with the aim of destroying localized fat deposits does not slim. It only removes the fat that occurs in certain parts of the body. A more pleasant appearance is achieved this way. In order to have liposuction, the skin must have maintained its elasticity, the incumbent should not smoke or drink alcoholic beverages, have no cellulite on the fat deposits and no serious illnesses.

Liposuction can be carried out on any individual who does not have a chronic health problem, who is not pregnant or has not recently undergone a delivery. However, certain tests should be carried out with patients with heart disease and diabetes before surgery. Liposuction can be carried out if the results of these tests are appropriate. Age is not a very important issue in this method, the person only has to be healthy.

Recovery Process After Liposuction

Patients should take care of their nutrition and take regular exercise after liposuction surgery. Corsets must be used for 4 to 8 weeks. The corsets should be specially manufactured for this purpose. Postoperative edema and bruising are common. After 1 week, the decision to remove the sutures can be made if there is no problem during the check. The patient can return to his daily routine activities 3 week after surgery. In addition, normal exercise is recommended. Minimal ache and pain is encountered during post operative procedures due to the small size of the incisions.

The duration of liposuction surgery varies from person to person. Due to this difference, the exact time of operation is not given. Time varies according to the reaction of the body. However, there is a 7-day recovery period after the operation. In addition, the surgery leaves no scars. Aches and pain are non-existent. Afterwards, if diet and exercise are maintained, the effect is observed for years. It is known that subsequent fat accumulation in the liposuction applied area is reduced by 70%.

Best Liposuction Area in the Body

The liposuction application area varies according to men and women. In general, the waist area is the most suitable liposuction area for men. The waist, legs, hip areas are considered suitable for liposuction in women. It is important that skin has maintained its elasticity in the relevant area. Liposuction cannot be applied to patients with low blood flow, vascular obstruction, heart disease, diabetes, and those who are immunocompromised.

Hemorrhaging and anesthesia reactions can occur in liposuction as in all surgical procedures. However, specific risks can occur such as rippling and discoloration of the skin after incorrect application. Loss of sensation and temporary edema can occur. The skin where the incision was made to extract fat can bruise.
