Nose Aesthetics (Rhinoplasty)

Nose aesthetics is a topic that many people wonder about. People who complain about nose related health problems or who are not satisfied with the appearance of their noses want to get the nose of their dreams with the nose aesthetics. Due to advanced methods, nose aesthetics is not as difficult as it used to be. However, since it is still an operation, the recovery time and painful period are slightly longer than for other operations.

When are Nose Aesthetics carried out?

Nose aesthetics is an operation that is carried out both for health as well as appearance. Aesthetics is used in esthetically negative situations such as unattractive shape of the nose. Apart from aesthetics, nose aesthetics are also used in cases affecting health. For example, the patient’s daily life may be adversely affected by concha or excessive bone structure in the nose which makes breathing difficult. Patients who have problems with snoring benefit from nose esthetics.

Is there an age limit?

Nose aesthetics requires the completion of the bone and muscle system. It is important that the bone has completed its development. Since cartilage structure is completed earlier, prominent ear surgeries can be carried out at an earlier age. However, nose surgery requires the completion of the development of muscle and bone structures. It is therefore difficult to specify a certain age for this surgery.

General Information about Nose Aesthetics

Nose aesthetics can be carried out as both open and closed procedures. In the open procedures the incisions are made outside the nostrils. This application enables the surgeon to have a wider view which is more advantageous than the other procedure. In the closed application, the incisions are located within the nostrils narrowing the surgeon’s field of vision somewhat. General anesthesia is preferred in nose aesthetic surgery. Local anesthesia is not preferred because the patient may feel fear, restlessness which may incur various risks.

Recovery Process

The bruises that occur after surgery decrease and yellow to disappear within a week, but the edema and swelling may last for a while after surgery. Edema is at the highest level on the second day of surgery. This swelling will decrease over time with the help of mild dressings and it can take as long as 3 months for your nose to take its final shape.
